Convergentia Announced as an Member of Digital Defence Ecosystem

Original membership announcement can be found on Digital Defence Ecosystem’s website: Link here

Convergentia is a leading expert in custom antenna design, concepting, simulation, RF design, EMC design, and prototyping. The company delivers integrated solutions for wireless devices across defence, security, and civilian markets — from drones and defence systems to consumer electronics like smartwatches and mobile phones. For Managing Director Tatu Karvinen, joining the Digital Defence Ecosystem was a natural step:

“Antennas are inherently dual-use technology. DDE brings together deep expertise across many fields, enabling us to combine our strengths to solve critical defence and security challenges.”

What expertise do you offer?

“We’re leveraging our simulation-driven antenna innovation to strengthen digital defence capabilities, supporting agile product development and defence readiness alongside top technology and research partners. We have strong experience in complex integrations where antennas must meet strict performance requirements despite limited space or challenging operating environments. Our team includes experts with decades of experience in antenna and RF design, ensuring deep technical knowledge for the most demanding projects.”

Why are you a DDE member and what do you expect from the ecosystem?

“The network brings together many potential customers and partners. For us, it’s an opportunity to gain new projects and to promote Finnish technology capabilities in our global network. We see DDE as a mutually beneficial platform to open new markets and strengthen the competitiveness of all members.”

How do you see DDE’s role in defence and society?

“Modern defence challenges require the combined expertise of many highly specialised actors. It’s critical to have a collective pool of knowledge ready to address defence and security needs. Many DDE members have deep, niche technical capabilities that large companies often lack. The value of the ecosystem lies in combining these strengths into complete solutions — working for the common good, protecting Finland and Europe, while also enabling business growth.”

What are your company’s future goals?

“Defence will be a significant and growing part of our business in the coming years. Demand in this area is rising, and we have strengthened our capabilities through training and recruitment. The same physics apply whether designing for drones or consumer wearables, but different operational environments make our integration know-how a key success factor.”
